The Relationship Between Forward Head Posture and Myogenic TMD in Smartphone Overuse
Unknown NCT06065826
Study Description
This observational study explores the correlation between forward head posture and myogenic temporomandibular disorder (TMD) in addicted smartphone users. It examines parameters such as pain pressure threshold, endurance of masticatory and neck muscles, and their association with TMD. The study also highlights how excessive smartphone use can lead to forward head posture, which in turn can cause tension in the masticatory muscles and contribute to myogenic TMD in young teenagers. Common clinical findings of TMD, such as pain and tenderness in masticatory muscles, as well as reduced muscle tenderness and shorter endurance duration in cervical muscles, are also discussed in the context of this condition and its correlation with forward head posture.
